Training

Training has an essential role to play in preventing abuse, raising awareness of abuse, and ensuring everyone responds appropriately and promptly to concerns of abuse. The Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Board (BSVAB) has produced guidance on training requirements in all agencies.

The Training Strategy gives an overview of recommended training in Buckinghamshire, who needs the different levels of training and how training can be accessed.

We also host a training standardisation group to support the work of in-house trainers. For more details contact the safeguarding training and development manager.

Safeguarding Training and Development Manager

BSVAB employs its own Training Manager. She is responsible for co-ordinating multi-agency training across Bucks. This includes the following tasks:

  • Advising agencies on their training responsibilities within the BSVAB training strategy
  • Providing support to in-house trainers through the standardisation group
  • Monitoring and evaluating training
  • Coordinating a pool of trainers and resources to provide multi-agency training
  • Chairing the training sub group of the BSVAB
