Recycle for Buckinghamshire
You'll be amazed how easy it is to make a real difference.
Recycle Now. Recycle for Buckinghamshire. The possibilities are endless.
Recycle for Buckinghamshire aims to:
- raise awareness and understanding
- encourage people to recycle more of the right things
We are now recycling and composting around 45% of our household waste. We offer recycling collection services and over 400 bring banks and recycling centres. Many types of materials can now be recycled in Buckinghamshire, ranging from glass, cans, paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, garden waste, clothes and batteries.
We also run fantastic waste prevention projects to help you reduce your garden and food waste.
Our campaigns are run in partnership with the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire and other supporting charities and organistaions. Find out more about our partners.

Reduce
The most important thing we should do with our rubbish is reduce it (prevent it in the first place). We promote two waste prevention initiatives to help Buckinghamshire residents do this:
Home composting
A third of what we bin could be turned into compost- find out more
Love Food Hate Waste
Food waste is extremely costly both financially and environmentally. Find out more about the issues and practical tips of how you can reduce your food waste.

Litter and Fly-tipping
Illegal Dumping Costs
This is a County-wide anti fly-tipping campaign aiming to reduce the amount of waste illegal dumped and, therefore, a reduction in collection costs.
Love Where You Live
This is a new national campaign which aims to inspire everyone to think about their communities and take action to reduce litter in the locations where they live, the places they visit and the spaces that they use.

Reuse
According to the waste hierarchy we should try and reuse waste before recycling or throwing away.
We encourage residents to use real nappies which can be reused over and over again and diverts tonnes of waste from our landfill sites.
We are looking at ways we can work with community partners to reuse bulky waste in Buckinghamshire and prevent our furniture going to landfill.

Schools
Recycle for Buckinghamshire supports schools and community groups in educating children about the 3Rs of reducing, reusing and recycling. We have a wealth of resources for teachers to deliver waste education.

Recycle
We work with our partners at the district councils to provide excellent recycling schemes, from your doorstep at the Household Waste and Recycling Centres and bring sites.
Household Waste and recycling Centres
Find out about your nearest recycling centre across the county where you can recycle and dispose of a variety of materials.
