Loan Shark Information Events
As part of the work to implement the Buckinghamshire Child Poverty Strategy 2011 - 14 and in partnership with District Councils we have arranged a series of Loan Shark Information Events in October and November 2011.
The events are appropriate for practitioners and others working with or representing children and young people and their families.
The Illegal Money Lending Team, England, part of the Office of Fair Trading, are delivering the sessions and attendees will hear about:
- How loan sharks operate;
- How they affect individuals and communities;
- How they can be stopped;
- How victims can be helped.
There is no need to book a place and there is no charge. There will be an opportunity to network with colleagues and share information on services that help families manage their finances and deal with debt.
