Wendover Woods are deciduous and coniferous woodland on the edge of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Deciduous trees, such as Oak, Ash and Beech, loose their leaves in winter; where as coniferous trees, such as Norway Spruce and Scots Pine, keep their leaves all year round.
Many wild flowers grow under the trees at Wendover Woods. In spring large areas are covered in a carpet of Bluebells, and later in the year Foxgloves and willowherbs can be seen.
Wendover Woods is owned by the Forestry Commission and managed by Forest Enterprise. There are a number of signposted walks, including access for wheelchair users, and the Ridgeway, an ancient track that runs from Overton Hill near Avebury to Ivinghoe Beacon, passes through the woods.
