NBN Gateway Policy
As part of the Bucks and Milton Keynes Environmental Records Centre’s (BMERC) commitment to make biodiversity data publically available, we are in the process of uploading our records on to the National Biodiversity Network (NBN) Gateway.
The NBN Gateway is a national website where information on biodiversity can be accessed by anyone who wants or needs it. It brings together records from many sources including Local Record Centres, National Recording Schemes and organisations such as BTO and Butterfly Conservation.
Records are organised into ‘datasets’ (collections of records) and some of BMERC's have already been uploaded and are available to view. Other datasets will follow over the coming year.
BMERC has put safeguards in place to ensure the privacy of data providers and land owners and the protection of the species recorded. Our policy on the NBN Gateway can be viewed in the document below or is available on request. If you have any questions about the NBN Gateway or how any records you may have provided to us will be treated, please contact us.
